Cory Doctorow and his publisher, Tor, have a neat promo for Doctorow’s forthcoming novel Makers. The novel will be published in November but is currently being serialized online in 81 installments. For each installment, Tor has commissioned a small square illustration. These illustrations fit together like tiles in any arrangement you like. Tor has assembled them in a flash toy that allows you to slide them around in a grid. The grid will grow as more installments in the serialization are released, one image for each installment, allowing the grid to expand from 5×5 to 6×6 (where it now stands), all the way up to 9×9.
